we will project "Rouge" (1994) from Kieslowski's triology "Three Colours".
Although Three Colours is a trilogy, there is no need to watch "Bleu" to understand "Blanc" or "Rouge".
In the 3rd part of the trilogy, “Rouge” ( = red), there is a variety of interpersonal connections between the characters transmitting the film's theme: fraternity (humanity and respect for every living being).
Red is one of the strongest colours that exists. It represents love, anger and passion. As in the previous two films, the red colour is present throughout the whole movie (advertising banner, car…).
In “Rouge”, Kieslowski uses numerous techniques to communicated moods and ideas to finally express the aim and common unifying theme of the entire trilogy, which one could consider to be love.This is the last of the three movies, and for that, it holds the end of the trilogy. The last scene may therefore answer some questions…
